Believe it or not?

Superstition (also known as popular belief) is is the derogatory term for the belief or the belief that supernatural powers in the game are likely to affect future developments and that certain acts can neutralize these forces, calls or adjust.
Usually, it involves the acquisition of luck and warding off misfortune.
Superstition has often cover objects and symbols.
Such beliefs are often called superstitions if they’re non-religious or traditional beliefs fall outside.
In the past it played an important role in everyday life. Superstition stated coincidences and gave the ability to avert risk of accident. In Western Europe has a negligible influence on the superstition nowadays public life, but it is still widespread in society. Superstition probably comes from the human trait, different concepts together, even if there is no real context. Strictly speaking it appears very difficult to be able to distinguish between faith and superstition.
In Europe, the distinction between faith and superstition possible largely borrowed from the Christian culture.
Noteworthy is that there is little scientific quantitative research is done to superstition. Three Chinese economists have published a study in the Journal of Economic Psychology. This showed, among other things, that people were willing to pay a significantly higher amount for a license plate for their car with the figure 8 there in (the Chinese lucky number).
Number signs with a number 4, the unlucky number, were much cheaper.
The Dutch theologian Prof. Erik Borgman claims that there is a large social component to superstition. In a culture where everyone believes something is only that reason enough to also something to believe.
It is similar to the reason why no dog meat in the West, but cows meat is eaten.
Rational isn’t it logical, but one does not because no one does it.
For the same reason people believe what many other people also believe: since everyone believes is the way it is so.(source:Wikipedia)
